About

This is my attempt to document my own late-diagnosed autism experience. My aim is to help other people going through a similar experience, because this isn't easy.

Disclaimer: Everything here consists of my own experiences, views and opinions expressed. I'm not a medical expert, and nothing here should be counted as medical or clinical advice. If you get something from here, then great - that's my aim with this site. If you don't like this, or find yourself offended, then go elsewhere, it's that simple.

I was diagnosed shortly after my 52nd birthday, around 3 months after I realised I could be autistic. I was lucky enough to go for a private diagnosis in the UK, so didn't experience the multi month wait for an NHS diagnosis. I spent the three months deep in autistic research, and realised after the event that it was an autistic-trait showing, in that I carried out a deep-dive into the subject with an intensity not available to the neurotypical people of the world. Ironic, yes?

Nothing here is AI generated btw... as an autistic person, I developed late (didn't learn to read until the age of 12), my grammar is probably all over the place, and the only reason that most of the spelling is correct is due to my trusty Mac and the inbuilt spell check...

Keep coming back, as this is a work in progress, launched during a session where by with the application of alcohol some of my traits were reduced to a background level, also meaning my brain feels like it has been hit in the back by a brick with some velocity.
