This is my attempt to document my own late-diagnosed autism experience. My aim is to help other people going through a similar experience, because this isn't easy.
I was diagnosed shortly after my 52nd birthday, around 3 months after I realised I could be autistic. I was lucky enough to go for a private diagnosis in the UK, so didn't experience the multi month wait for an NHS diagnosis. I spent the three months deep in autistic research, and realised after the event that it was an autistic-trait showing, in that I carried out a deep-dive into the subject with an intensity not available to the neurotypical people of the world. Ironic, yes?
